New Music Together Big Kids for kids ages 5-7

We are excited to offer the new Music Together Big Kids program for children ages 5, 6, and 7 this Fall!  After several of years of building and improving Big Kids at multiple pilot locations, Music Together, LLC is making the program available to qualifying centers for the first time this Fall of 2011.

Whereas Mixed Ages classes are designed to help your child develop the fundamental music skills of singing in tune and move accurately to a beat, the Big Kids classes will support pre-music-reading skills, noticing and naming musical concepts, tonal and rhythmic solfege, and contextual creativity (individual and group) all while continuing to provide a playful, musically rich class environment.  Expect lots of singing, chanting, game songs, rhythm and tonal patterns, a wide variety of movement and plenty of it, instrument play and hand-drumming.

 Big Kids classes are 60 minutes long, and we'll hold ours at 3 PM on Thursdays starting September 8.  **Note: We will flex with this time a bit, as it has been mentioned that it may be difficult for some kids to get to the class promptly at 3.  We may wind up with a start time of 3:15, depending on everyone's needs.**

Location is Asheville Music School West at 1408 Patton Ave.  Suite F.  Parent attendance is only required at the first class and at one more after that.

Tuition of $160 covers 11 weeks of classes and all materials.  Each sibling attending the class will receive a $50 discount.

In addition to a special songbook just for big kids and 2 identical CD's, families will receive new materials to carry the classroom pre-music-reading learning into the home.
